Jack Hammond
Brigadier General USA Ret.
Brigadier General Jack Hammond is a retired U.S. Army General Officer and veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan. Since his retirement in 2012, Hammond has served as the chief executive for Home Base which is an innovative partnership between the Boston Red Sox and the Massachusetts General Hospital. Home Base operates the nation’s premier center of excellence for the mental health and brain injuries that affect our Veterans and their families. Drawing upon the faculty of Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Home Base has reimagined what is possible by developing new treatment models and a full spectrum of care for the invisible wounds of war. Hammond has raised more than 130 million dollars to fund breakthrough clinical programs at the nation’s first and largest private sector clinical center for Veterans. This state-of-the-art national center for innovation has delivered first class care and support, at no cost, to more than 25,000 people from all 50 states and 6 countries. In addition, the Home Base faculty has trained more than 75,000 clinicians, participated in national research projects, and most recently launched a national media channel to extend the reach of its non-clinical programs.
